Inspired by their commitment to help UM UCH maintain and strengthen its core programs and services along with their desire to support initiatives that will provide care for neighbors suffering from behavioral health and substance abuse issues, Terri Garland and Craig Ward have made a leadership gift that utilizes a planned giving tool to support Your Health, Our Mission: Caring for Our Families Together.

UM UCH appreciates all contributions, large and small. We offer a variety of avenues to make a gift in order to meet the needs of our generous donors.

Cash Gifts

The simplest and easiest option, cash gifts may be made through outright cash, personal checks, cashier’s checks, money orders, or credit/debit card transactions.

Gift Pledges

UM UCH also welcomes your gift through a pledge (a formal statement of intention to make a gift to UM UCH). With a pledge, you may complete your gift by making regular payments within three to five years.

Gifts of Appreciated Securities, Stocks, and Bonds

These also provide considerable tax advantages when transferred to UM UCH before they are sold. If you have held your securities for more than one year, you may find that your gift will provide a two-fold tax benefit, creating an income tax deduction as well as helping avoid the capital-gains tax that would have been due on their sale.

Matching Gifts

An easy way to double or even triple your donation to UM UCH is to find out if your company has a matching gift program. Such programs typically match all or a percentage of employee contributions to charitable organizations, making the employer a partner in your personal philanthropy.

Gifts in Honor or Memory

You can make a gift supporting UM UCH in honor or memory of a relative, friend, valued physician, or other significant person in your life. Making an honorary or memorial gift is a generous and thoughtful way to recognize a person’s life and accomplishments.

Legacy Gifts

By making a planned gift, you are confirming your philanthropic support today by naming UM UCH as a beneficiary in your estate and creating a personal legacy that will enrich our community in the future.
